Source: Dyesol.com press release /14 Nov 07

Dyesol subsidiary STI has reached the next milestone in the development and commercialisation of flexible camouflage DSC modules with delivery of three different designs to the contracting authority DSTO. This delivery is the final stage in design of the modules that have the unique property of very low visible signature. The dappled colours inherent in the Dyesol cells have never previously been demonstrated in a module.

The Dyesol design, for which Dyesol group owns all the intellectual property and for which patents have been applied, will be able to be produced in a variety of colours, shapes and sizes to suit application in any climate or environment – including potentially airborne and sonobuoy applications.

The flexibility and toughness of the modules has been demonstrated at the Critical Design Review held in October. The modules are also very resistant to water ingress and promise excellent durability.Dyesol has recently extended its capabilities in encapsulation to include design of barrier layer laminates that will be able to be utilised for long life products.

Dyesol has already committed to establishment of pilot production facilities to form part of the new development and manufacturing facilities for which details will be announced shortly. The engineering team at Dyesol is currently finalising plans for the cell and module production units. These new facilities will enhance the range of DSC equipments available from Dyesol.
