Leading Dye Solar Cell developer and materials manufacturer Dyesol (ASX: DYE) has met the final milestone of the first phase of its collaborative program with Corus for the development of dye solar cells integrated onto Corus coil steel for application as broad area building products. Corus approved the milestone at the formal project review meeting in Shotton, Wales on December 14.
Dyesol and Corus have now been collaborating for 18 months on this project and both companies are excited by the success of the project achievements. The program is on-going with the companies now involved in detailed joint planning for expansion and acceleration of the project in 2008. The project will be concentrated in UK from early 2008 with Dyesol’s activities being carried out by its subsidiary Dyesol UK Limited. The company is currently initiating employment of additional project staff to meet the increased demands of Phase 2.
Dr Gavin Tulloch, President Dyesol International, said, “We are more than satisfied with the progress on the project which is due to the excellent performance of our team and the close collaboration with the scientists, engineers and marketing team at Corus Colors. Next year looks to be even more fulfilling.”
